猛暑の影響で鶏の生活も大変
皆さんもこの夏、猛暑日が続いていて夏バテしていませんか？鶏も暑い夏が苦手です。体を羽毛で覆われているので、なおさらです。
人間同様、夏場の鶏は食欲が落ちます。また、水の摂取も多くなります。体温の調整に失敗すると人間同様に熱中症にかかる鶏も出てきます。
食欲が減退するので、たまごの重さも春に比べ軽くなります。若い鶏は小さな（軽い）たまごから産み始め、月齢を重ねるにつれてだんだんと大きな（重い）たまごを産むようになるのですが、夏場だけは春より小さな（軽い）たまごを生むこともあります。
また、鮮度を測る「ものさし」にも使われている「白身の盛り上がり方（弾力）」も、冬場に比べて弱くなります。
でも、たまごの賞味期間は夏場の温度状態でも「（購入してから冷蔵庫で保管いただく前提で）生食で召し上がれる期間」を設定していますのでご安心ください。
「早く、涼しくなってほしいな」とは人間も鶏の世界も共通の願いのようです。
